It's Friday. Another week down. No N95-3 FW update. N73 gets demand paging and I shed a tear the next time I take a picture with my N95. :(

one of my readers mentioned though that he N73 update breaks connectivity to macs ... not cool. Apparently being discussed in the nokia support forums.

I'd be pretty pissed having a flagship device, and then finding that a legacy device got a poncy new upgrade before mine too. I wonder who makes these decisions?

I don't know, Steve- but that's a good question. I'd love to chat with someone and get some understanding of the situation. It sure is frustrating. Spend 750 dollars on an N95-1 in April, sell it on eBay for three hundred bucks less not 6 months later to trade up to the NAM variant only to see it updated with all the wonders of the 8GB model's software (which gets updated twice itself in the meantime) only to be stuck with the slowest N95 in the product line.

Lets face it, the NA market potential is massive. Ignoring the problems you guys have with your carriers for a minute, if Nokia want to make a decent headway into the NA market they really need to stop pissing off the small amount of loyal fans they have at the moment. Be it by releasing NAM phone versions after everyone else has got theirs, and the same with F/W revisions etc etc. They really need to get a grip on this. I just hope when the N95 replacement shows up in the flesh, the NAM version will be standing next to the Euro and APAC versions for release on the same day.

Can't find accessories over here either. Not in any of the major retailers, not in the carrier stores... I've been looking for the HH-12 windscreen mount for a week now online. It's impossible.

It really is very difficult sometimes to be a Nokia fan around here. :(

Nokia site- "Online Price= Only in Stores"

Google product search= 400 UK sites and two US retailers. Both only offer it bundled with an N95 cradle and both are out of stock. Found it at one store, Plemix, who claimed to have it available to ship (bundled with universal Nokia cradle). Three days after I sent them fifty dollars, they emailed to say they don't have, don't know when they'll have it and would like to know if they should hang on to my money.

    What's Brando? : \

Now that I am at my computer I see that piece... it's the arm that comes with the N800 Navkit. Something Proclip can't solve for you?

  • PseudoFinn

Yeah, I was looking for a mount I can stick anything to and install in any vehicle in seconds. I don't believe Proclip has windscreen mounts- I did however order me a clip for a different location in my vehicle while I was looking for one just a minute ago though. :)

I've heard good things about the Nokia windshield mount. It shouldn't be this hard to find one. It's not like I'm trying to score some 'ludes here.

It worked fine in my car -- but was actually too far away to make navigation easy to deal with once in motion. My on-dash Proclip is much better for that -- though I need to get an N810 back to use it. ;(

    Yeah- that's a shame. :(

There are only two location in my card for a Proclip- and one of them is occupied right now by the Brodit N95 mount... the other location is too low for me, down by the stereo. It's worth a shot though. I might mount the N95 down there and the N810 up higher on the dash. I'd really like to place it on my windshield though. I used to have a PSP mounted up on the left side of my windshield and it was quite easy to reach and see without being in the way of anything, but I think the arm was a bit longer than the Nokia suction mount.

I see an HH-12 on ebay, it's 40 bucks with shipping included, which isn't bac- but it ships from the UK (so I imagine I can expect two weeks before I get it) and there's that matter of still owing ebay fifty bucks from my last sales spree. :(

That and Plemix still has a good portion of my paypal balance and won't respond to my emails...
